Your hair is one of your greatest accessories this, I truly believe. The real beauty of a woman does not only lie on fancy clothes or on the most expensive high-heeled shoes. Instead, it is holistic health that gives any woman both her inner and outer glow. Besides, what good can a pretty face do if your hair is all tangled? Your hair does not only serve as an accessory, it is also a big part of you. If you know how to style it and take care of it, then you can definitely make a good impression on other people.

Hair health does not only mean that you need to regularly moisturize your hair and so on and so forth. Your daily diet also plays a big role on how healthy your hair becomes, and you must always choose what you eat as it has a huge impact not only on your well-being, but on your hair as well.

Hair Loss Antagonists
  • Spinach: This green and leafy vegetable would surely help you fight hair loss as it is full of essential vitamins and minerals that will be your shield against iron deficiency. A huge decrease in iron greatly contributes to hair loss, and all you need is a leaf or two of spinach.
  • Carrots: Vitamin A is integral in maintaining oil in your scalp. Since carrots are filled with beta-carotene which then converts into Vitamin A, carrots can truly help in making sure that your hair and scalp are provided with enough oil.
  • Walnuts: I'm pretty sure you have heard about the power within a walnut when it comes to maintaining healthy hair. These nuts contain oil that is needed for your hair to grow longer and stronger. Without oil, your hair will simply be prone to breakage, and you'd have to say goodbye to your dream of having long, strong hair.
Hello, Healthy Hair!
  • Salmon: Since salmon is jam-packed with vitamin B12, iron and omega 3 fatty acids which are needed for healthy scalp, nothing can ever equal the benefits of eating salmon.
  • Berries and Lemons: Collagen is a known important component of your hair. To increase its production, you need loads of Vitamin C and there are lots of fruits rich in this vitamin. Aside from citrus fruits, you may add your intake of berries which are also rich in the said vitamin.
  • High on Olives: Olives are rich in vitamin E, which is essential in renewing and revitalizing damaged hair. Vitamin E boosts the production of keratin, which is important in reducing breakage.
  • Lentils: If you are finding ways to make your hair grow longer and faster, then, include lentil in your diet. Since it is rich in folic acid, it would be helpful in increasing blood supply and oxygen in the scalp.
These super foods will surely make your dream of standing out in the crowd come true by providing you with long and extra strong hair. Also, you won't have to worry about hair loss even when you age by consuming these foods.

When looking for a good hair treatment clinic, it's important to have some clear expectations of what they can provide. You should first look for a clinic that can offer free consults to work out what treatment will be best for your hair loss, as well as clinics that can guide you through a range of different treatments and services. The best hair treatment clinics will also be able to advise and perform hair transplant surgeries, after assessing your suitability for an operation.

This is the crucial first stage of hair loss treatment, and should involve a free introductory discussion and diagnosis of your problems - consultations can allow a hair clinic to work out which treatments you'd be suitable for, as well as whether you would benefit from surgery. A detailed diagnosis of your particular type of hair loss can at least give you realistic options over what can be achieved with hair replacement treatments or therapy, and can be carried out for men, women, and children.

Range of Services

Gaining access to a range of hair treatments can mean that you can try non-surgical options, while also seeing whether replacement treatments can work for you if you have conditions where surgery isn't an option. Some of the treatments that hair clinics can provide include medications like finasteride and minoxidil, which can encourage regrowth and slow down the effects of hair loss. You might also want to try laser treatment to stimulate your hair follicles.

Other options include replacement and volumising systems for your hair; this can be ideal for partial or temporary hair loss, and can involve the use of realistic wigs and extensions that are tailored to your scalp. Making an investment in a high quality hair replacement treatment can provide a more economic option than surgery, and can be a good solution if you're expecting your hair to regrow over time.

Surgical Options

Clinics can consult you over whether your hair loss is suitable for surgery, or whether conditions such as alopecia areata mean that you're unlikely to benefit due to total hair loss. One of the most common types of hair transplant now used is follicular unit extraction, where individual hairs from the healthy part of your head are moved to balding areas. Always look for clinics that have certified surgeons before undergoing treatment.

In this context, it's important to find clinics that can offer you a personalised service, and that will make you aware of the different options that you have open to you. For example, a clinic like Foley Court can provide consults, hair replacement and therapy options, as well as surgical advice and procedures. Before undertaking any treatment, though, get a full consultation so that you're not investing money in procedures that are going to be unsuitable for your type of hair loss.

Losing hair can be quite normal if the number of hair strands you will lose each day is within the normal range about 75 to a hundred strands. When your hair fall goes beyond this number, that is the time that you have to worry.

These days , more and more people are experiencing hair loss or thinning. As we all know, we will not be able to treat a certain condition not unless we know what started it in the first place. With that in mind, here are some of the most popular hair loss types today.

Androgenic alopecia. This is more commonly known as male pattern baldness. This is not exactly hair loss but is more of hair thinning. Women and men who have this experiences more than just slow hair growth. The strands of their hair also gets weaker. Most cases like these are attributed to hereditary issues. If you are experiencing this condition, then it breaks my heart to say that there is only little that can be done to address this issue.

Cicatricial alopecia. This is also known as scarring alopecia. This is not anninherited condition but the reasons why this condition occurs is purely physiological. Persons who have this condition have inflamed scalp. This inflammation leads will produce the scar tissue to build at the top of the scalp. Hair follicle gets damage until it reaches the point of scarring, preventing any hair from growing beneath the follicle. If you have a condition like this, this is permanenet and nothing can be done to reverse the said effects.

Alopecia Areata. This is one of the side effects of autoimmune diseases. This type of hair loss is already known in the medical field yet the underlying cause has not been discovered yet. Most people who have this condition are quite healthy. According to experts, the condition may be a result of poor nutrition or it ca be environmental conditions.

Telogen Effluvium. This type of hair loss is one of a kind since it produces a great change in the normal hair growing cycle of a human. This is no genetic condition. On the other hand, this hair loss type occurs when a person has encountered a sever shock either physically or mentally. This type of hair loss forces the hair to go into resting phase of the normal hair growth cycle prematurely . The shock that produces this kind of hair loss is no regular shock. In fact, it is one that may cause a visible change in your daily life. It can be depression, pregnancy or any type of disease.

Traction alopecia. This is one type of hair loss that can be easily prevented. This type of hair loss is brought about by a boosted level of pressure that comes from hair styles. These hair styles place tension on our hair scalp which pulls the roots of the hair. As a result, the root will be weakened preventing it from growing healthy hair.

Sun-tan lotion with SPF, skimpy bikini, oversized hat, lip balm, Ray Ban aviator glasses, hmmmm.. What else are you forgetting on your summer shopping list girl? How about some hair care products! Most people's main concern during this season is how they would flaunt their bodies and how they avoid getting too much sun on their skin. They forgot that their hair needs caring too! If you notice, your hair becomes dryer after an out of town or a vacation that involves too much sun exposure and water activities. You end up getting back on your office with a bad tan and a bad hair.

So is there a way to summer proof hair?

1. Follow the proper way in shampooing your hair. We tend to be obsessed in washing our hair on a daily basis in order to keep it clean and grease free. But did you know that frequent shampooing can lead your hair to dryness? Making it more prone to damage such as split ends and frizzing. So it's more advisable to wash your hair every other day with a mild shampoo. Do not use hot water. Apply shampoo only on the scalp by gently massaging it. Never apply shampoo directly on the hair and rinse it completely.

2. Choose the best conditioner. There are two conditioners that you need: the washable and the leave-in. Applying conditioner is not the same as shampoo. You have to avoid too much conditioner on the area of scalp for it can cause hair fall. Be generous in applying conditioner on your hair in order to coat each strands. Remember to rinse it thoroughly to avoid the sticky feeling due to residues. Don't forget to use leave-in conditioner after your hair is completely dry. Squeeze a pea sized amount of leave-in conditioner and spread it on your hair.

3. Refrain from using blow dryers, flat irons, and curlers. The temperature of summer is already intense enough for your hair, using blow dryers will make the situation more redundant. Let your hair dry naturally during this season most especially if you don't have a special event to attend to. Although it can be tough to style hair without the magic help of flat irons and curlers, you'll do your hair a great favor. Since it's summer, au naturale look suits best. A neat pony tail or bed head look is totally acceptable.

4. Get rid of split ends. Trim your hair regularly to remove those nasty split ends before they become worse. It's not necessary to cut it short but just enough to prevent the split from going up. Regular trimming can make your hair grow faster as well.

5. Prep your hair before swimming. What's summer without hitting the beach or diving into the swimming pool right? However, here's a quick to do list before you submerge yourself into chlorine infested waters. Put an oil or a leave in conditioner and apply it thoroughly to the strands of your hair. This will protect your hair against the damaging chemicals found in sea waters and public pools. Aside from that, it will also prevent irritating tangles and frizzing. After swimming, wash your hair immediately to remove residues.

1. DNA Testing and Infidelity

For couples all over the world that may be having relationship troubles, the possibility of infidelity by their significant other is a potentially serious problem. To combat this nasty relationship breaker, all sorts of solutions commonly get proposed, ranging from counseling to private investigators who spy on travelling husbands or wives.

However, at least one company, called Infidelity Testing, is offering a pretty odd way of finding out if your significant other is cheating on you, by using the highly precise science of DNA testing. Simply send in your partner's dirty underwear to their laboratories, and wait for them to do a careful multi-point scan of the fabric for hard to remove traces of third party genetic material that would have no easy way of finding its way to such an intimate place.

2. Cyborg....…Rats and Rescue Services

We've all heard of rescue dogs using their superman noses to detect survivors under the rubble of bomb or earthquake ruined buildings and other places. We're even getting pretty used to naval rescue services training dolphins or sea lions in the fine art of detecting underwater weapons and lost divers with the aid of specialized equipment mounted to their backs. However, one even more radically surprising new trend that's being used by scientists at DARPA and the University of Florida involves using rats as detection animals for disaster scenarios.

Since the flexible little rodents naturally spend their time digging and burrowing through tight space, experimental trials have fitted them with little backpacks that transmit olfactory signals to human supervisors, telling them when the animal has discovered a trapped survivor buried under rubble.

3. UltraSonic Waves that Repel Birds

Many people, from municipal officials to private homeowners and farmers, have all had serious problems with birds on their infrastructure sometimes even very serious problems. From covering public parks in white feces to destroying crops and stealing food, large packs of birds like seagulls, crows and pigeons can become a serious bloody nuisance that can apparently be downright hard to get rid of without the temptation to daily use of flamethrowers.

Unless of course you get creative and think outside the box about dealing with warms of these flying avian rats of the sky. This is where companies like come into the picture. Their interesting technology uses repeating high powered blasts of sonic or even ultrasonic sound waves to permanently scare birds off any public or private place where the machinery that causes these sound waves is installed. The sonic repellers create human audible sounds like predator bird cries and other scary noises to clear an area, while the ultrasonic version of the repellers is designed for spaces with human presence and thus relies on sound that we can't hear but which badly annoys destructive avians.

4. Aluminum as Bullet Proof Armor

When most of us think of Aluminum, we just associate it with flimsy bike frames, flimsy car frames and maybe decorative metal features in buildings. The keyword here is flimsy, and the last thing we'd ever associate with this soft, light metal is hardcore vehicle ballistic armor that's designed to withstand direct hits from toys like a 50 caliber machine gun.

But, believe it or not, this is exactly what aluminum can be used for….. a bullet stopping vehicle window glass. If this seems crazy, the idea that a soft completely opaque metal can suddenly double as a transparent, ultra hard ballistic window replacement in armored cars, then you need to understand that aluminum, when mixed with nitrogen and oxygen into a powder, can then be superheated and super compressed to create a clear, smooth glass-like substance that's several times stronger than even the best ballistic glass or plastic mix.

5. NASA Nano Tech Keeps the Hairstyling Industry Sanitary

The scientists at NASA have had to get extraordinarily creative in making up substance related technologies that keep their astronauts safe and hygienic in orbital space while not causing zero G related problems. One such issue involved keeping surfaces clean without using liquid disinfectants, which would simply form into floating droplets and drift all over the place. Thus, the engineers at NASA developed a substance that was filled extremely small microscopic silver particles which could be applied to surfaces without drifting away; silver, as many medical professionals know, happens to be antimicrobial by nature.

Before long, a hair care company owner by the name of Farouk Shami had heard of this development at a nanotechnology conference and soon started applying it to the hair styling industry by coating styling tools with a self-disinfecting layer of silver nano particles.
